Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades 9- 4 for an Advanced Apprenticeship and 9-3 for an Intermediate. Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, may be offered an appointment to come into college (Ipswich or Suffolk Rural (Otley) campus) and sit an online assessment to confirm program suitability.
Vacancy Full Description : • Analyse problems and offer suggestions for correcting errors on the machines.
• Perform machine and packaging line set ups, adhering to the company’s health & safety guidelines, policies, and processes.
• Assist the Line Leaders with issues, concerns, or problems with the machines.
• Ensure there is an adequate stock of tools, spares, and consumables at all times.
• The apprentice Machine Setters will be based in Unit & Unit 10, and will work under the Engineering Manager
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : Monday to Friday. 08.15 - 17.00 one shift. 30 minutes unpaid break per day
Salary : £ 175.22 (Weekly)

Future Prospects : The Engineering Manager is looking to develop the Apprentice Machine Setters through qualifications and on the job experience, to develop them to progress to a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer.
Training to be Provided : The Maintenance and Operations Engineering technician roles covers a range of job roles in the Engineering industry. They will maintain safety, integrity and effective operation of plant and equipment in one or more industries that are part of the broader national infrastructure Engineering Sector. The apprentice will complete an End point Assessment to demonstrate that they can perform knowledge, skills and behaviours in their occupation.
Other Information : The role of a Machine Setter can be very varied and challenging when the production plan is busy, as the Machine Setters need to set up machines for multiple lines running in the Unit. You need to be able to balance the work required in a fast moving environment, whilst maintaining an open and friendly communication style.
