Vacancy Short Description : EXCELR8 motorsport is offering an exciting and unique opportunity for an
apprentice vehicle bodywork repair technician to join their highly successful
and growing organisation. They will learn skills in car body, paint,
mechanical and electrical repairs

 

Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial
assessment to establish course suitability. Ideally applicants
should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at
grades 9- 4 for an Advanced Apprenticeship and 9-3 for an
Intermediate. Proof of qualifications will be required before you
can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: Those without the stated entry requirements or
awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, may be offered an
appointment to come into college (Ipswich or Suffolk Rural (Otley)
campus) and sit an online assessment to confirm program
suitability.
Vacancy Full Description : As a Bodywork apprentice, you will be working with our body work team.
In this role you will be assisting in;
● Assessing damage and deciding how to repair them
● Removing damaged panels or parts for repair
● Smoothing out minor dents in panels
● Filling small holes or damage with filler
● Fibre glass and moulding panels
○ Repairing panels damaged during an Event
○ Prepping new panels ready to go on the car
○ Modifying current panels for performance upgrades
● Paint spraying panels
● Color matching and blending paint to match surrounding areas
● Maintenance of tools including cleaning
● Keeping clear records of all work completed
You will assist with repairs to all levels of cars we have in the team, from are
mini challenge cars to BTCC, to project cars.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Mondays to Fridays working a minimum 8 hour day starting at 8:30am with 1 hour for lunch
Salary : £ 166.00 (Weekly)

Future Prospects : There will be a possibility of you being able to go away with the team on
race events.
Training to be Provided : A Vehicle Damage Paint Technician works in the vehicle body repair sector of the motor industry. The role is to prepare, spray and finish vehicles that have been involved in collisions and other incidents including cars/light commercial vehicles. This role includes colour matching and final finish to the company or customers exact standards and requirements. The apprentice will complete an End point Assessment to demonstrate that they can perform knowledge, skills and behaviours in their occupation.

At EXCELR8s unit you are required to work for a minimum 8 hour
day, starting at 8.30am. On occasions, it may be necessary to work
in excess of 8 hours in any one day in order to fulfil your role.
You will be responsible for ensuring you take suitable breaks during
the day. Lunch break will be for 1 hour between 1pm and 2pm.
