Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and maths at grades 9- 4 for an Advanced Apprenticeship and 9-3 for an Intermediate.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
Vacancy Full Description : As an apprentice commis chef, you’ll prepare food and carry out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef. Your primary objective as a commis chef will be to learn and understand how to carry out the basic functions in the kitchen at the kingfishers, there will be three eateries on the site which will all be prepped in the main kitchen and then sent to their desired locations.
• Assist with the production of high quality, freshly prepared food as directed by the Head Chef.
• Assist with day to day washing up and cleaning as per cleaning schedules and as directed by the
Head Chef.
• Helping to ensure that food offer and resultant service facilitates a high quality of customer service.
• Helping to control gross profit by ensuring good portion control and minimising wastage.
• Assisting in the implementation and effective discharge of all relevant statutory requirements within
the kitchen department. These include health & safety, food safety and fire safety.
Number of Positions Available : 2
Working Week : Tuesday - Sunday being 5 x 7 hour shifts
Salary : £ 157.50 (Weekly)

Training to be Provided : The course requires apprentices to prepare food and carry out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef. The primary objective of the Commis Chef is to learn and understand how to carry out the basic functions in every section of the kitchen. Therefore having the opportunity to experience, consider and value each section with a view to choosing an area where they feel most inspired. The apprentice will complete an End point Assessment to demonstrate that they can perform knowledge, skills and behaviours in their occupation.
