Vacancy Short Description : This is an exciting opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship in industrial control systems and electrical installations.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and maths at grades 9- 4 for a Level 3 Apprenticeship and 9-3 for a Level 2.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: All applicants regardless of entry requirements will be emailed an Initial Assessment to complete as part of the recruitment procedure. This is an online assessment in English and maths and can be completed at your preferred location remotely. Currently, due to COVID19 we are not usually offering Initial Assessment appointments at either campus. Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, will be offered further advice and guidance to support their application if required.
Vacancy Full Description : As an apprentice you will be working part a team, working alongside our Electrical Foreman. You will be assisting with electrical installations and the manufacture of control panels.This apprenticeship is for those who wish to develop their core skills, knowledge and behaviours, allowing them to work effectively with supervision in a working environment. This Occupational route will work on the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of low-voltage electrical and electronic devices and appliances. In addition, Installation Electricians must understand and apply the principles of planning and selection for the installation of electro technical equipment and systems in buildings, structures and the environment. The apprentice will complete an End point Assessment to demonstrate that they can perform knowledge, skills and behaviours in their occupation.

Working Week : 7.30am-4.00pm
Salary : £190.00 Per Week

Future Prospects : For the right candidate who proves to be hard working, flexible on hours to meet business needs and completes their apprenticeship the long term prospects of a full time role are excellent.
Training to be Provided : College attendance is required 1 day per week at the Ipswich Campus during term times.
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £4.15 per hour with effect from 1st April 2020. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
Depending on the age and circumstances of the apprentice you may be asked to travel for work and work away from home. This is something which will be discussed at interview and will only be an option if it is in compliance with employer responsibilites for apprentices.
