Vacancy Short Description : This apprenticeship is based in a friendly salon and is a great opportunity to begin a career in beauty therapy.

 

Qualifications Required : .Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and maths at grades 9- 4 for a Level 3 Apprenticeship and 9-3 for a Level 2.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: All applicants regardless of entry requirements will be emailed an Initial Assessment to complete as part of the recruitment procedure. This is an online assessment in English and maths and can be completed at your preferred location remotely. Currently, due to COVID19 we are not offering Initial Assessment appointments at either campus. Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, will be offered further advice and guidance to support their application if required.
Please note: A level 3 apprenitceship will be considered if Level 2 has been achieved.
Vacancy Full Description : The role will cover all aspects of beauty therapy treatments in line with legal, industry and organisational requirements, maintaining honesty, integrity and confidentiality.

Duties, training, responsibilities whilst being supported in a small team will include the following:


• Carry out beauty therapy treatments in line with legal, industry and organisational requirements, maintaining honesty, integrity and confidentiality
• Carry out, maintains and stores detailed and confidential beauty treatment consultations with clients, choosing the most appropriate treatments and products
• Implement and practice safe ways of working for themselves and others in accordance with legal, beauty therapy and organisational requirements
• Select, use, and applie a range of beauty therapy techniques, products, tools and equipment to provide:
o Waxing services (legs, underarms, face and bikini line)
o Hand and nail treatments
o Foot treatments
o Facial skin care treatments
o Eyelash and eyebrow treatments
o Make-up application
o Basic massage treatments (back, neck and shoulder)
• Facilitate the client journey, makes appointments, completes the services and handles payments from clients
• Provide advice and recommendations on the beauty treatments and appointments
• Portray professionalism and values that meet Beauty Therapy industry requirements and expectations
• Maintain standards of appearance and the salon/spa image, etiquette and hygiene

Working Week : 30 hours over working week
Salary : £124.50 Per Week

Personal Qualities : You will have a passion for wanting to begin a career in this industry. Good personal presentation and an ability to empathise with customers is essential.
Skills Required : Good maths and English and communication skills are desirable.
Future Prospects : For the right candidate who proves to be hard working, flexible on hours with the diligence to complete their apprenticeship the long term prospects of a full time roll with further training and development are excellent
Training to be Provided : Ipswich Campus day release
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £4.15 per hour with effect from 1st April 2020. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
