Vacancy Short Description : This is an ideal opportunity to gain an advanced apprenticeship in Electrical Installation.

 

Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and maths at grades 9- 4 for a Level 3 Apprenticeship and 9-3 for a Level 2.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: All applicants regardless of entry requirements will be emailed an Initial Assessment to complete as part of the recruitment procedure. This is an online assessment in English and maths and can be completed at your preferred location remotely. Currently, due to COVID19 we are not offering Initial Assessment appointments at either campus. Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, will be offered further advice and guidance to support their application if required.
Vacancy Full Description : As an apprentice you will be part of a small team working in the office assisting with quoting and CAD drawings. You will learn about wiring switchgear and control panels in our workshop. Full training will be given.
Your main duties are:
Help produce quotes for panels and on-site works
Help design panels
Assemble/construct LV panels and HVAC systems
Help install or modify electrical panels in the workshop or on site
Carry out duties deemed necessary for the smooth running of the business.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 - (30 Minute Lunch break)
Salary : £197.50 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Punctual, self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Skills Required : Good Mathematics and English grades at GCSE or A Level
Good computer and IT skills
Interest in engineering and/or electronics
Future Prospects : Permanent employment is a possibility in the future.
Training to be Provided : College attendance is required 1 day per week at the Ipswich Campus during term times.
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £4.15 per hour with effect from 1st April 2020. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
