Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to
establish course suitability. Ideally applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs
including English and Maths at grades 9- 4 for an Advanced Apprenticeship
and 9-3 for an Intermediate. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of
30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the
apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting
GCSE/GCSE retake grades, may be offered an appointment to come into
college (Ipswich or Suffolk Rural (Otley) campus) and sit an online
assessment to confirm program suitability.

Vacancy Full Description : This position is a great foundation in outdoor activities and working with children. The work is predominantly instructing with 9-11 yr old children, delivering an array of activities such as mountain biking, climbing, archery, and high ropes
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 5 days 9am-5pm 37.5 hours per week
Salary : £155.62 Per Week

Personal Qualities : We are looking for candidates that are motivated, outgoing, enthusiastic, and reliable and have an interest in working with and supporting children within a team of young friendly and experienced team of instructors.
Skills Required : The successful candidate will possess a confident outgoing personality, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Consideration should be given to the fact that this role is outdoors and physical in nature.
Future Prospects : Excellent long term prospects for the right candidate who proves to be reliable, flexible and hard working. These vacancies are not for short term contracts we are looking to develop established committed members of the full time team.
Training to be Provided : Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Ipswich campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: From 1st April 2020 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
